French:

The French language class at The Grammar School offers a wide variety of educational and personal growth opportunities.  The study of a foreign language enhances the verbal and written skills of a student’s native language.  It also contributes to the success in learning other foreign languages in later years.  The youngest French students experience the novelty of foreign language through songs, poetry, and games.  Older students are introduced to sentences and dialogue as well as some written work.  As the upper grade students experience growth in their vocabulary and communication skills, they begin to write short stories and perform simple skits.  Children learn correct pronunciation and intonation throughout the French Program.  As a culmination to the French Program at The Grammar School, 6^th grade students visit French speaking Canada.
