Music:

The Music Program at The Grammar School is comprehensive, sequential, and developmentally appropriate.  Music classes are structured around several theories of music instruction including the most effective methodologies of Kodaly, Dalacorze, and Orff.  Children learn singing alone and with others, performing on instruments, reading and noting music, as well as listening to and analyzing music.  Children also learn about different musical styles and the relationship of music to history and culture.  Throughout the school year there are performance opportunities in which students can become involved.  Through these performances, students develop confidence and learn the value of music as entertainment and expression
