Somers Fire Marshall Visits The Grammar School

Students Receive an Important Lesson in Fire Safety

Somers, CT – October 25, 2007 – The Grammar School at Somersville has welcomed visitors from many different vocations in order to provide their students with a tangible aspect of a special lesson.  On Thursday, October 25, students at The Grammar School at Somersville received a special visit from the Somers Fires Department.  As a culmination to their awareness of fire safety during Fire Prevention Month in October, the students welcomed the three firefighters to discuss fire safety, important things to remember in an emergency, developing a plan at their own home to ensure that everyone gets out safely, keeping the smoke detectors working, and they received a demonstration of the fire fighter’s uniform and equipment.
